What would you buy with $50?

Listen to these children's answers...look in their eyes...think about what $50 means to you, and what $50 might mean to one of these children...according to the UNICEF website, the Gross National Income per capita in 2007 is $340, or less that $1 per day...this statistic is mirrored on the World Health Organization website as well...in 1999, 84.9% of the population was living below the poverty line, drawn at earning less than $1 per day.

FYI, Our group will be in Kampala briefly near the end of our trip, and we will be mainly working in the villages that are east of the capitol city. On a map, if you find Lake Victoria and the Nile River, we will be right there.

For those who are wondering if we are still collecting donations, we ARE! We are approaching capacity for taking supplies, but we are still seeking additional funds to help pay the $5 fee for each child that we refer for additional screening at the eye doctor.

Love to all!
