I ate goat by the Nile river today...what did you do today?
Hello to all! We are in AFRICA, can you believe it? Me either....we've been here for an entire day and it still hasn't really sunk in yet! We arrived to Entebbe late last night...and boarded a very tiny bus to get to our hotel. We loaded all of our luggage on first, and ended up sitting several people to a seat, piled on one another. After 18+ hours of travel, nobody really cared. We were all tired, smelly and just wanted to get to our hotel! We stayed at Sophie's Motel in Entebbe-I shared a room with AP. Our room was called Zimbabwe. I was really excited that we had a shower, sink and toilet-with working water! This morning, despite the overhead sprayer which did not work, I showered and it was fabulous! We piled back on our bus and headed thru Kampala to the town of Jinja, which is where we are right now. Along the way, we stopped to use the bathroom at a gas station. And by bathroom, I mean a stall with no light with a hole in the ground. I squatted over a hole in Africa. What an experience!!!
And yes, I really did eat goat. It tasted like chicken, but a little tougher and with more bones in it. We are at the Paradise Hotel on the Nile, and simply said it is paradise, and it's on the Nile. Can't really beat that! I think we are going to head to the pool for a while tonight, and relax after our 4 + hour bus ride here! I'm not sure but I think we are going to Bujagali Falls in the morning. Anyway, time is limited, but I wanted everyone to know that we are safe and sound! Love you all!
